Character reference for Robert Hughan from W Sloan, grocer of Banbury - when in Banbury Hughan always conducted himself honourably. Had he not done so, he would not have got the Mayor (John Munton Esq) and several of the Corporation to sign his character when he went to London in view of a situation. John Munton Esq also wrote to Henry William Tancred Esq MP for Banbury on his behalf and signed his certificate at that time.
