    He was at St Neots Market on the previous Thursday with James Marritt of Eaton Socon was. They were going through Eaton Ford. Elizabeth Hargrave came up to them, rushed between them, shoved Marritt off the walk and caught hold of his hand saying she wanted to speak to him. He went with her. She used some indecent expressions and caught hold of him by the breeches where his pocket was. There were 25 shillings in a purse there. When she left him she ran directly into a house about 100 yards along the road from where she caught hold of him. He missed his money about 5 minutes after as he and Marritt went on to the Recruiting Serjeant. Mrs Jefferies the landlady sent for the police officer. The police officer came and went with him to the house the woman ran into. He looked in at the window and saw the woman who had taken his money sitting down. They went in and he clapped his hand on her shoulder and said it was the person. The woman said she had not been out of the house. The police officer took her away. She abused him as they were going up the road. When Hargrave ran into the house there was a man in the doorway named Daniel Rowston who lives at Swineshead. Charlotte Rowston is his wife. Charlotte Rowston saw him yesterday and asked him if he would settle she would pay him the money and satisfy him for his trouble rather than her sister should suffer. He told her he could not do it.
