- Scope and ContentI am about 22 years of age, was born as I have been informed and believe in Oundle, County of Northampton. I was baptised in the parish church of that place, the names of my father and motehr are William Day and Hannah Day, her maiden name was Hopley - they were married at Wisbech. At Michaelmas 1833 my father hired a house in Ram Yard, St Paul, Bedford of Thomas Hester for a year at the rent of ten pounds. He occupied the same house at the same rent for two years and a half and quitted at Lady Day 1836 having paid the full rent and taxes for that period and during which I lived with him as a member of his family. I have done no act to my knowledge to gain a settlement in my own right. I was married on Sunday 27th January instant at St Paul, Bedford to Sarah Taylor. At the time of her marriage she occupied a house in Ram Yard which she held of Mr Anthony by the week at the rent of 18 pence per week, and I am now living with her in that house.
