- Scope and ContentWilliam Cooper: was in the habit of giving his sheep hay in cribs in the turnip field. On 9 December, the sheep were in the fields and there was some hay in the cribs for them. He had previously lost hay from the cribs and was watching out that evening. About 6 o'clock, he saw Gilbert Daisley, who lived nearby, come from his cottage with a skip in his hand and take all the hay out of the 2 cribs. His son William came from the cottage with a bag and held it whilst his father filled it with hay, out of the 2 other cribs. They then walked away with the skip and the bag. Cooper followed them along with another man. The other man, at Coopers orders, took the bag and skip from the Daisley's. Gilbert Daisley said he hoped that Cooper could forgive him.
