- Scope and ContentI am about 22 years of age, was born at Harrold. When about 14 years of age I was placed out apprentice by the parish officers of Harrold to Charles Buck of Olney, Buckinghamshire, stocking maufacturer and draper. After I had been with my master about a twelvemonth he left Olney and came to reside at Bedford. I served two years of my time when I ran away from my place, remained away a few days and returned to my master, who took me before a bench of Magistrates and I believe had my indenture cancelled. After I left the Magistrates I was sent to the House of Industry where I remained about 18 months when I went to work for Mr Howard as a labourer in his brick yard in St Paul and I have continued to work as a labourer at various places in this town ever since. I was married on 24th July instant at St Paul to Mary Sanders.
