- Scope and ContentI am 29 years of age, was born at the parish of Castle Deannott in the County of Kildare, Ireland. I came to England when I was about 19 years of age and enetered the service of Mr Joseph Keep of Broughton, Northamptonshire, farmer, as a farming servant at the wages of five shillings per week and my board and lodging. I remained with him three years and a half. I did not receive my wages weekly but let it run until it amounted to sometimes 12 or 15 pounds. I used to take care of his horses, milk the cows and do anything that was to be done about the farm. I have since I left Mr Keep worked as a journeyman labourer, principally with Mr Joseph Berrill of Bedford in whose employ I now am. I was married on 9th July instant at St Paul, Bedford to Elizabeth Hickman.
