- Scope and ContentJohn Shaw: a police constable stationed at Potton. He received information on 12 November that Mr Peter’s potato pits had been opened and a quantity of potatoes taken. He went the following day to Royston and inconsequence of further information there, went the following day to Buntingford with John Evans. Evans showed him some potatoes in a sack and Shaw took a sample from them. These potatoes matched with those produced by David Boness.
