- Scope and ContentI am about 24 years of age, was born in Ampthill. When I was about 14 years of age I was placed out apprentice by the Parish Officers of Ampthill by Indenture now produced dated 20 May 1824 until the age of 21 to George Poulton of Ampthill, shoemaker. I served the whole of my time in that parish with George Poulton and with Charles Goode also of the said parish, shoemaker, to whom I was regularly assigned. I have not done any other act since to gain a settlement. I was married on the 3rd instant at St Mary to Sarah Clare.
