- Scope and ContentI am about 14 years of age, was born in the said parish where my father resided and belonged and is now employed as a labourer by the Governor of the House of Industry, having a wife and three other children. I was placed out apprentice by the Trustees of Harpurs Charity by Indenture dated the 6 December last for seven years to William Nelson of Sandy, blacksmith. I lived there with my said master as his apprentice until the 20th of April last, when my Master died and his widow gave up the business to his brother Thomas Nelson, who did not want an apprentice. I then came to bedford. My mother has repeatedly applied to the parish officers of Sandy for relief for me but they refused to give it.
