- Scope and ContentJohn Burton: a carpenter of St Neots. He had left his tools in a basket safe in Mr Jubb’s shop on the evening of 3 September, the master for who he was working. On returning next morning he found missing his trying plane, a carpenters square and a chisel. He did not see them again until produced by the constable. William Beach: from information received, in the company of PC Hart he traced the prisoner to the Sheppreth station on the Royston Line of the railway. He asked the accused to show him his tools and asked him where he had got them. He told him he had taken them from Mr Jubb's shop.
