I am about 25 years of age, was born in Bedford. When I was about 14 years of age I was placed out apprentice for five years by my father William Clarke to Mr John Foster of St Cuthbert, coachmaker, by indenture dated -. I served about three years and a half with my Master in the said parish of St Cuthbert when he became insolvent and gave me up my Indentures. I have since worked as a journeyman at my trade in London and other places but have not done any act to gain another settlement. I was married on the 14th instant at St Paul, Bedford to Sarah Wells.
