- Scope and ContentI am 29 years of age, was born in St Paul, Bedford where my father then resided and belonged. When I was 14 years of age I was placed out apprentice by the Trustees of Harpurs Charity (by Indenture dated -) to John Radcliff of St Paul, shoemaker, for seven years. I served the whole of my apprenticeship in the said parish of St Cuthbert with my Master and on his death with his widow and have worked with her as a journeyman shoemaker ever since without having done any act to gain a settlement elsewhere. I was married at St Peter, Bedford on the 21st instant to Ann Clark.
