  • Scope and Content
As Mr Higgs said he had lost some nails he advised him to mark some of the remaining ones, which he did and showed him the marked nails. Having been informed Reuben Bowers had offered some nails to Langley for sale, he asked Bowers where they were. Bowers said they were at his father's house, that he bought them from Charles Maddocks for 2d, and that if he would go with him he would give him the nails, which he did. They were some of the nails marked by Mr Higgs. The previous night he asked Maddocks where the nails were that he sold to Bowers. He denied selling any or offering any to Langley. When shown the nails he said he knew nothing about them.
