    Thomas Hull: on getting up about 7 o'clock on Friday 23 May, he missed an old jacket which he had seen the night before. He also missed a pair of trousers and waistcoat, the kitchen door was shut but not fastened. The next day he identified the missing items at Mr Jebbett's office. He had seen the prisoner in Goldington on the Thursday evening. He also identified part of a child frock as his property, although he had not previously missed it. Joseph Fane; the prisoner came to him with a pile of old rags, and asked him to buy them. They were in a sack. He purchased them from him. William Beach: from information received he apprehended the prisoner at The Bell Inn in Bedford. He told him the charge against him and asked where he'd slept on the Thursday night. Taylor replied under a hayrick. Beach took him to Fane who identified him as the man who had sold him the rags.
