- Scope and ContentElizabeth Ginger: Mary Ann Harrison was in her service to take care of her children. She was discharged by Ginger as she did not suit her. 2 or 3 days after she had left Ginger missed a shawl. On consequence of what her daughter told her, she went to the house of George Nash with whom the prisoner was living. The shawl was produced. The prisoner, at first said she had bought it but later acknowledged taking it from Mrs Ginger's premises. Ginger asked Mrs Nash's leave to see the prisoners box and the prisoner opened her box and gave to Ginger other items she had taken. She did not make excuse or give reason for having taken them, but said she was very sorry and asked forgiveness. Ginger left the articles in the care of Mrs Nash, and returned later with constable Edwards. William Edwards: he took the prisoner into custody and retained the articles that Harrison was charged with stealing. The prisoner begged Mrs Ginger to forgive her.Statement of the accused: nothing to say
