- Scope and ContentLast Thursday fortnight Joseph Gazeley of Lower Stondon came and bargained with him for 11 pigs at 10s 3d a head. He was to deliver them to him the next day at Shefford market. Gazeley was to pay ready money. He took the pigs there accordingly. Gazeley opened a pen in the market and drove them in - in the Black Swan Yard. Gazeley said he had to go up to the Crown and would come to him there in 10 minutes. He went and waited there nearly an hour but Gazeley did not come. Then he went down to him and he came back with him to the Crown. Gazeley told him he had sold them but had not got the money.
