I am about 15 years of age, was born at Market Harborough in the County of Leicester where my father Joseph Pochin a journeyman tallow chandler and my mother Sarah Pochin both resided. I lived with my father and mother at Market Harborough and Northampton till about eight years ago when my father died and my mother was afterwards married to a Mr William Chapman, a shoemaker at Northampton. We then came to live in Bedford. I have lived with Mr Chapman ever since. My mother died about a year and a half ago. I never have been put out apprentice or in service or done any act to gain a settlement in my own right to the best of my knowledge.
