  • Scope and Content
I am about 28 years of age, was born in St Peter, Bedford where my father and mother Thomas and Frances Course then resided. When I was about 13 years and a half old I was bound apprentice by the Harpur Charity to my father by Indenture (now produced) bearing the date 25th May 1816 for the term of seven years to learn his trade of a millwright. I served him under those Indentures in different parishes in the County where my father's work might happen to be (at the time always sleeping at home in the parish of St Paul in this town) for about four years when my father died. I then served my mother under the Indentures til the term of my apprenticeship was up. Since which time to the present I have been working as a journeyman to my mother at the weekly wages of one pound four shillings. For the first five years in the parish of St Paul and since that time in the parish of St Peter. I was married on 21st instant at St Paul to Ann Ebden.
