- Scope and ContentI am about 48 years of age. My late brother John Knighton was about 14 years older than I am. We were both the sons of John Knighton of Higham, staymaker and Ann his wife. I do not know what her maiden name was. I don't know where they were married. I have heard my father say he was a certificate man from Raunds in Northamptonshire, and that he afterwards occupied a house at Higham by the rent of two guineas a year and some meadowland of John Bollard for which he paid eight guineas a year. I have found a receipt for the eight guineas amongst my fathers papers. My father died at Higham in the same house and I have occupied it to the present time. I am a parishioner of Higham and have been sent upon my rounds by the overseers of the parish.
