- Scope and ContentBy an order dated 5 December 1828 John Mowbray of St Paul, gardener, was adjudged to be the reputed father of a male bastard child born of Ann Clifton, singlewoman. it was ordered that John Mowbray should pay the Churchwardens and Overseers of St Paul two shillings weekly from the time of making the said order for and towards the maintenance of the child so long as it was chargeable to the parish. He the said John Mowbray hath had due notice of the Order against which no appeal has been made. The said weekly sum of money hath not been paid for a long time past and there is now due and owing the sum of eight pounds twelve shillings and demand of payment hath been made but John Mowbrayhath made default in payment.
