- Scope and ContentI am 22 years of age, was born in Biggleswade where my father and mother Thomas Reed and Elizabeth Reed then resided and belonged, In December 1827 I let myself to Professor Havlind of St Giles, Cambridge, Fellow of Saint Johns College in the University of Cambridge for one whole year as coachman at the yearly wages of eighteen pounds. I continued in the service of my master during the whole of the year and one month besides. In February 1829 I let myself to Ann Rowley of St Neots in the County of Huntingdon, widow for one whole year as coachman at the yearly wages of nineteen pounds and I am in her service at the present time. I continued in her service until the expiration of the same term. I was married at St Cuthbert, Bedford on the 12th January instant to Martha Tingay.
