I am about 22 years of age, was born in the parish of St John, Wapping in the County of Middlesex. In the month of January 1821 I was placed out apprentice by the Wapping School Charity by Indenture for seven years to George Cooper of Sheppard Street, Spitalfields, shoemaker. When I had served six months of my time there my Master ran away and I have since been obliged to shift for myself and have not done any act to gain a settlement. I was on the 21 instant married at St Paul, Bedford to Lucy Guess.
