- Scope and ContentSamuel Blane: on 6 September he left his shoes and fustian coat in a building he called the shop in his yard. James Gurney was working for him. On the following Sunday he missed the coat and shoes. William Breakwell: having heard of the robbery he went to Biggleswade. He went to the house of James Gurney. He spoke to the girl Gurney co-habited with, and asked her for the shoe. He followed her upstairs and saw her take them from under the bedstead. On going downstairs he was given the jacket by another female. He then went to find the prisoner and met him coming home from work. Gurney told him he had taken the jacket and shoes and would give him anything if he let him go.
