- Scope and ContentDinah Marlow: employed by Mr Waller. Just after 2pm on the 25 July she saw a man standing outside Mr James Addison Taylor's shop. She then saw him look up and down the street before going to the shop and removing a joint of meat, and concealing it in his jacket. She called Mr Waller's groom and told him what she had seen. James Addison Taylor: kept the Wellington Arms and the butchers shop. On being told of the theft he went in pursuit of the man. He found him with Mr Waller's groom. James Walker: groom to Mr Waller. Just after 2 pm on the 25 July, he saw the accused standing outside the Wellington Arms. When told by Mrs Marlow of the theft, he went in pursuit. he saw the accused running up Stuart Street and called out to him to stop, which he did. Mr Taylor arrived and took charge of the prisoner. John Kempston: was a police constable of Luton and took the prisoner into custody.
