- TitleJurors presentment - 1st count: William Herron of Luton, labourer, for falsely pretending to Hannah Thoroughgood, wife of William Thoroughgood, that he was a corporal of the 46th Regiment of Infantry and as such had a billet for two men and two horses, and that if she did not have room for them she must pay him 7s, by means of which false pretences he obtained 7s. 2nd count: Falsely pretending to Ann Maria Ellerd, spinster, that he had a billet for two men and two horses, and that if she had not conveniency for the horses there was a man in the town who would take them, by means of which false pretences he obtained 4s. 3rd count: Falsely pretending to John Smith that he had a billet for two men and horses, by means of which pretences he obtained 1s 6d. Plea: Not guilty. Verdict: Guilty
