    Jonathan Rowland: On 15 May was in the Grapes beer shop in Biggleswade in the company of the prisoners. He had a purse containing 25 pound in sovereigns and half sovereigns. He had the purse in his pocket. After leaving the Grapes with the proisoners, and went ot thweir lodgings and went up to the bedroom. Hall laid on the bed, as he was drunk. Rowland was also worse for liquor and sat in the chair. He fell asleep. On waking both of the accused had gone. Rowland went home and missed his money. He went back to the lodging and saw Ann Sutton, she denied robbing him. Both prisoners had seen the content of his purse in the Grapes. Rowland had earlier given Hall 2 shillings as he had said he had no money.
