Dinah Hartop of Honeydon, Eaton - on Wednesday 18 March when was in her father's house at Colmworth James Hight was there. She heard him say that he would go to St Neot's market on Thursday to buy a pistol to shoot Mr Parish, that he would strive to do it in the Meeting Yard at Staughton on the following Sunday, and that if she was there she would see him. She said he thought he would not do it, but he insisted he would. He said he thought Mr Parish, Mr Robinson and Mr Blot were all against him on account of Mr Blot's daughter. He wished to keep her company and thought they were all against it. Her father Samuel Hight, one brother and two of her sisters were present. She knew James Hight did leave Colmworth to go to St Neot's market the following day and felt very uneasy. As a consequence she went early on Sunday morning before meeting to Little Staughton to inform Mr Parish. For over half a year she has thought her brother James Hight not right in his mind - he has "been passionate and behaved ill to my father". James Hight - "I am afraid to trust myself and I cannot promise to keep the peace to Mr Blot, Mr Robinson or Mr Parish"
