- Scope and ContentAbout 23 years of age. Born in Eaton Socon whre his father resided and belonged. On 31 May 1825 he was hired by Charles Higgins of the Swan inn, Bedford as a driver of Post Chaises. He did not board or lodge with Mr Higgins and was to be paid by what he received from the persons he drove and not by any regular wages from Mr Higgins. He continued in such service until last Christmas and lodged the whole of that time in Castle Lane. He has not done any act since that time to gain a settlement. This morning he was married at St Mary, Bedford to Mary Ann Smith.
