- Scope and ContentJohn Wells: aged 13 and a half. Whilst running through a field saw Robert Mardlin near the brook with a pole. As he ran towards him he saw he had a duck. He called out to say he had seen him with the duck but Mardlin walked away. Mardlin then began to run and was joined by Eli Ploughman and Thomas Johnson, whom he had seen walking toward Blunham Mills. There were feather in the water and blood on the side of the brook where Mardlin had got the duck. Edward Foster: missed 5 ducks. He identified the feathers as that of his ducks. Patience Mary Foster: attended to the ducks. She missed 5 and identified the feathers found as those of the ducks.
