    Thomas Ambridge of Silsoe, labourer - he lives at Silsoe and keeps poultry. On 27 November he lost 3 fowls - a cock and 2 pullets. On 7 December from information he received he went to John Leach's of Silsoe and saw his three fowls in his garden. John Leach was at home, but his wife Mary Leach said she bought them from Francis White of Silsoe. He took the fowls home. Later mann and Hudson came to him and admitted they caught the fowls at a distance from his home. Mary Leach, wife of John Leach of Silsoe, labourer - she bought the cock and 2 pullets from Francis White on the day before Ambridge came to her. She gave him 3s 4d for them and turned them out with her other fowls. Francis White of Silsoe, labourer - he bought the fowls a fortnight ago last Saturday from George Mann for 2s 6d. George Mann - he had nothing to do and was walking about with William Hudson. They saw three fowls in a hedge between Mr Squires and Mr Bones fields and caught them. He kept them for 5 days and then sold them to Francis White for 2s and 3 pints of ale. He gave Hudson half the money. William Hudson - has nothing to say.
