- Scope and ContentJohn Burrin: worked as a shopman for William Manley. He heard a voice call saying that a man had taken a piece of bacon. He saw the prisoner walking away and found him with a piece of bacon. The policeman was nearby and he gave him over to his custody. William Edwards: had been watching the prisoner when he saw him enter Mr Manley's shop and come out instantly with something in his hand. He saw John Burrin run after James Brown and accuse him of taking the bacon.
