- Scope and ContentAdelaide Lincoln: was in the service of James Whitehouse, farmer of Wootton. She heard a noise and saw the prisoner enter the brew house. He took the shawl, which was hanging on a nail, and put it up his smock. Miss Lincoln went out the front door and challenged him. He denied taking the shawl. She pulled up his smock and the shawl dropped to the ground. He then threatened to kill her.
