- Scope and ContentSamuel Johnson: claimed not to have met Enoch Reynolds or John James before. He had travelled to Leighton Buzzard from Daventry and believed he had been given the bad half crown by a beer seller as change from half a sovereign. John James: wished only to speak on behalf of Enoch Reynolds, stating he was not guilty of any crime and had only just met him. He also stated he was not in Leighton on the Tuesday of the crime, and had only visited a couple of times before, on Wednesdays.
