    Samuel Meadows: was working at Harvest work and had left his basket and the leather strap in a field belonging to Mr Gousey. On returning to the basket, the strap was missing. He was with George Westley and they saw David Robinson going through the field and they watched him throw the strap into a hedge. Westley retrieved the strap. Robinson told them he'd seen a boy with the strap. George Westley: was with Samuel Meadows when he left the basket and strap and hen they returned it had gone.. He saw David Robinson throw the strap into the hedge. Robinson said he did not take it.Statement of the accused: Meadows accused him of taking the strap but he did not. Meadows then offered to fight him. He stated they often threatened him. He said that he had honestly not seen the strap before it was taken out of the hedge.
