- Scope and ContentJames Rook: was at the Coach & Horse public house in Biggleswade, when the accused arrived. He paid for what he had had, and returned his purse to his breeches pocket. He left just after the accused, she spoke to him and he felt her hand in his left breeches pocket. She then went away. He missed his purse. Peter Wilshire: was with James Rook in the Coach & Horses. When Rook paid for his beer, the accused was standing nearby. On leaving the public house he saw her go up to Rook and catch hold of him. Rook made a grab for her but 2 men rolled up against Rook and she got away. Rook then told him he had been robbed.
