Depositions of Susan Gailor of Sandy, Henry Room of Sandy, in the case of John Jeffries accused of assaulting and beating Susan Gailor.

Henry Room: on 24 July he attended Beeston Feast. He saw Susan Gailor and John Jeffries drinking together. He saw Jeffries be fresh with Gailor and believed them both drunk. On leaving he saw Gailor and stopped to talk to her. They saw Jeffries waiting opposite her house. Thinking he had moved on Gailor returned home, and he witnessed Jeffries hit her; he tried to kick her but fell down several times in the attempt. He heard them say nothing but she appeared to be aggravating him. He returned home.
