- Scope and ContentJames Smith: attended the Balloon public house in Caddington and was told a man with a spotted dog was accused of stealing a pair of snuffers. He went to several public house in Luton and found a man matching the description in the Shoulder of Mutton. On searching him he found the snuffers. Henry Buckels: saw Godwin take the snuffers from his public house, the Balloon. He went after him but could not overtake him. Statement of the accused - Meshach Godwin: stated he had a lot to drink and was did not know what he was doing.
