Large (approx 15x9 inches, or 37.5x49cm) Illuminated pro-forma long service certificate presented to Walter John Dolby [uncle od donor] by the Directors of George Kent Ltd in recognition of faithful service rendered during the past twenty-five years and as a mark of appreciation and goodwill, signed by Philip W. Kent, Chairman. Includes colour illustrations of the exteriors of the shop premises in the nineteenth century and the [Luton] factory in the twentieth century. Also includes black and white portrait photographs of the founder, George Kent (1806-1890) and Sir Walter G. Kent, CBE, Chairman, 1907-1938. Intertwined initials of the firm at foot of certificate (left) and date firm established (right), 1838. Designed and produced by Alan Tabor Ltd., Manchester.
