- Scope and ContentJohn Fuller of St Paul, Bedford - "I am very bad in my head sometimes and happened to have a little beer". George Chapman of St Paul, Bedford - had been to Wilshamstead and was coming home from his day's work. He went down All Hallows Lane with his basket on his back and saw Fuller talking with another man. He offered to sell him a handkerchief and insisted it was his mother's. The other man (an Irishman called John) thought it was right as Fuller's mother had just died. He gave Fuller 18d for it, then went home and had supper. He heard a shawl had been lost and went to Fuller at the Shoulder of Mutton. When confronted Fuller knocked him down. He chased him but couldn't catch him, and gave the shawl to Mr Coombs.
