- Scope and ContentAbout 43 years of age. Born at Cardington where his father Thomas Franklyn resided and belonged. When he was about 18 he let himself to Thomas Skevington of Weston Underwood, County of Bucks, farmer for a year from Michaelmans 1796 to 1797 at two guineas wages which he received. At Dropshort Statute about a fortnight before Michaelmas 1798 he let himself for a year to Benjamin Brooks of Emberton, Bucks, farmer. He went into such service the day after Bedford Fair Day 1798 and came away on Old Michaemas 1799. He was horsekeeper and his wages were four guineas or four pounds ten shillings the whole of which he received. On Bedford Fair Day 1799 he let himself to John Ridley of Northill, farmer until Old Michaelmas Day following as a general farm servant at wages of five pounds ten shillings. Quitted Old Michaelmas Day 1800. Married June 1802 at Cardington to Mary Burridge by whom he has five children James aged 19 apprentice to Mr Joseph Berrill, bricklayer at Bedford, George aged 14, Elizabeth aged 9, Mary Ann aged 6 the four last Still living with him.
