Is 19 years of age. Was born at Wellingborough, County of Northampton. His father Thomas Stanley was then a soldier in the Bedfordshire Militia but belonged to Kettering, County of Northampton where he obtained his settlement by hiring and service. His father died when he was about two years old and his mother is still living having since married to John Harpur of St Peter, Bedford, shoemaker, deceased. His mother receieved relief for this Examinant until he was about 8 years of age. He was married 16 June 1822 at St Peter, Bedford, to his now wife Ann by whom he has a daughter born on 14th Dec. Unsigned and undated. Annotated ‘John Stanley refused to be sworn and his wife and daughter were removed on Sarah Harpur’s examination of the following page.’
