Scope and Content
He is 23 years of age. Born at Moggerhanger where his father William Ashwell resided and belonged. At Michaelmas 1813 he let himself to Mrs Elizabeth Ayres of Blunham,farmer as a general servant in husbandry by the year and continued in that service until Michaelmas 1815 and was not absent from this service the whole two years without his Mistress’s leave. He received five pounds the first year and six pounds the last year. Married this morning at St Cuthbert, Bedford to Martha Branklin.
