- Scope and ContentTwenty years of age. Born in St Paul, Bedford where her father Nathaniel Day, a brewer, resided and belonged. When she was about 14 she was placed out apprentice by the Harpur’s Charity by Indenture 6 June 1815 to William Day and his wife of Kettering , County of Northampton, mantua maker for five years. She served about 6 months of her time at Kettering when her Master and mistress removed to Bedford and continued a year there then they removed to Oundle, County of Northampton, where she served the remainder of her apprenticeship.
