    Fifty one years of age. Born in Winterborn, Berks. When he was 5 he went to live with and Uncle Francis Tidbury at Woodford, County of Northampton, who taught him his trade and he continued with him after he had learned his trade until he was about 32. He then worked in several places as a journeyman. Lady Day 1806 he hired from Mr John Blackwell, The Old George public house in St Paul, Bedford at the yearly rent of £20. He continued there more than a twelvemonth paying the rent and all the taxes. Married Mary Eccles at Higham Ferrers, County of Northampton about 17 years ago by whom he has two children living – William aged 17 and John aged 14. Mary died about five years ago and he was again married at Raunds, county of Northampton, but has not any other child.
