- Scope and ContentHis wife told him her flour bag was missing. He went with the constable to search Benjamin Sturges house where the bag was found. The previous night William Barnett and Mr Peacock's housekeeper told him that David Sturges was at John Barnett's, the Chequers Public House. He went there and sent for the constable who took Sturges into custody. He then went with the constable to Benjamin Sturges' house, took him into custody and brought him to the room in which David Sturges was. During the night David Sturges admitted getting the wires off the window with a stick. Sturges said he took about a stone of flour and admitted being in Barnett's house about 4 times.
