- Scope and ContentAbout 31 years of age. His mother has told him that he was born in Marylebone, that his father was a foreigner. When he was about 11 he was bound apprentice to the Directors of the House of Industry, St Peter, Bedford to learn the woollen manufactory carried on by them, by Indenture of apprenticeship for seven years. He served the whole of his apprenticeship. He worked for the said Directors for about two years after his apprenticeship as a journeyman and received (he thinks) eighteen shillings a week. He has been nearly five years at sea. Married last Thursday 13 July at St John, Bedford to Catherine Kemp.
