    About 23 years of age. Born at St Albans, County of Hertford where his father Edward Edwards, labourer, resided and belonged. He worked with his father until he was 20 years old. Towards the latter end of the harvest 1817 he let himself to John Turner of Milton Ernest, farmer, for a year to look after the cows and other husbandry at the wages of four guineas. Went to the service the Monday before Old Michaelmas 1817 and continued until a week and two days before Old Michaelmas1818. The reason he quit service before Old Michaelmas was his being ill. Ten days after Old Michaelmas 1818 he we went again to Mr Turner (scarcely recovered from his illness) and worked for him by the week til bean sowing when he let himself to Mr Turner til Michaelmas for four guineas. Monday 1 May 1820 married at St John, Bedford to Susanna Woodward.
