Scope and Content
Fifty four years of age. Born at Eversholt where his father resided but belonged to St Cuthbert, Bedford. In April 1788 let himself to Thomas Cumberland of Elstow, farmer as a cowman until Michaelmas 1789. In spring 1790 he enlisted in the 14th Regiment of Foot and continued in the army until July 1814 when he was discharged.
