About 43 years of age. Born in St Nicholas, Harwich, Essex where his father William Wood lived and had belonged to that parish for many years. At the age of about fourteen he served an apprenticeship of seven years with his father as his eldest son but that there was no Indenture. He has since worked as a journeyman brazier at Harwich, Biggleswade and other places but has not done any act whereby to gain a settlement in any place except in the parish of St Nicholas, Harwich. He was married seven years ago at Biggleswade to his now wife Ann by whom he has three children – Eliza aged 6, William aged 4, Francis aged one.
