- Scope and ContentJohn King: discovered the wood when searching Fairey's house. Fairey originally claimed to have bought it, but later said he had not stolen it but knew who had, but would not tell. Joseph Eaton who was also present, stated the planks belonged to Lord St John. Frederick Tanner: worked for Lord St John and recognised it to be his lordships property. John Rootham: worked for Lord St John and recognised it to be his lordships property. William Rootham: worked for Lord St John and recognised it to be his lordships property. George Fairey: stated he did not steal the planks but did buy them. He said he must take it upon himself as he would not get anyone else into trouble.
